- Graduated from Swartz Creek High School in Swartz Creek Michigan
- Enjoys running: ran cross country & track in high school; ran in the Michigan high school state cross country championship in 1985. Has Run the St. George & Logan Marathon as well as Squaw Peak 50 mile trail run.
- Served a 2-year LDS mission to Dallas, Texas.
- Completed undergraduate studies at Mott College in Flint Michigan & Northlake College in Irving, Texas.
- Graduated from Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas, Texas
- Played on Parker Patriots hockey team
- Has been the volunteer team doctor to BYU Hockey and Mountain View High Wrestling
- Married the former Nancy Taylor
