Custom Framing For My Diploma

I started my college experience in September 1987, shortly after graduating high school.

After I graduated high school I didn’t have any real direction in my life.  I knew I wanted and needed to go to college, but as far as a profession I didn’t have any idea.  Unfortunately, I had been floundering for several years in school.  I was mostly a C+ student with the occasional B.

Because of these reasons, after graduating I went to a small local college in Flint, Michigan – Mott College.  For me this was a good experience.  It allowed me to do some growing up and get a taste of higher education.  I went to Mott for two semesters and then left for two years to work as a missionary.

After returning from that experience I knew what I wanted to do – I wanted to be a chiropractor.  I found the school I wanted to go – Parker College in Dallas, Texas.

So, I moved to Dallas and enrolled North Lake College, which is part of the Dallas County Community College district.  There I finished my under graduate studies and entered Parker College in May of 1993.

Prior to entering Parker I was married to my sweetheart.  By the time I graduated in 1996 I had many people who had helped me through my education – my parents, my wife, in laws and many different friends.  One of the funnest things I was able to do for all of these people was give them a framed certificate that was entitled “Got Him Through.”  It was a certificate from the school and it was basically my “thanks” to all of these people.

After graduating one of the funnest things I was able to do for myself in the starting in practice process was to have my diploma put into a custom frame.

I am participating in a blogger campaign by Bucks2Blog for custom framing

and was compensated. However, the views and opinions are my own.

  1. It only seems fitting. We spend >$100,000 on the education. That certificate represents a serious investment. It should be properly framed and displayed.

I have mine custom framed. I got mine in 1995 and the ink is a bit sun-faded. I will need to look into a restoration artist soon.
